Souscripteur Senior Marine
SCOR Global P&C (SGPC) is recruiting a Marine Underwriter based in Paris who will be in charge of:
- Handling a Marine portfolio in concordance with the Underwriting Guidelines established by the Group.
-Negotiating, underwriting, handling direct insurance/ re-insurance linked to marine i.e.: H&M (Hull & Machinery), Cargo and Marine Liability

The Business Solutions Division of SCOR Global P&C, dedicated to Large Corporate Risks, is structured through 3 areas: Energy & Natural Resources (worldwide vision), Construction & Specialties (worldwide vision), and Corporate Property & Casualty (split in Asia, EMEA, Americas). Each area / region is directed by a CUO (Chief Underwriting Officer) / Underwriting Director.
The range of risks underwritten includes large projects of infrastructure (highway, dam, subway, railway, etc) and industrial areas (in energy, gas, mines, heavy industry, etc) worldwide.
The position is part of the Marine Underwriting team, which is based between Paris in London, and covers the global market.
Missions et responsabilités
Reporting to the Head of Marine/Offshore Energy department (based in Paris and London)
-Analyzing , evaluating the risk on paper and /or after visiting the client ,provide a diagnosis on the insurability, rates terms & conditions and underwrite direct or reinsurance facultative.
-Elaborating adequate reinsurance cover (clauses, type of contracts). Offering the client a wide range of solutions taking into account Scor’s internal resources and knowledge.
-In charge of the technical/commercial relationship with major clients and local intermediary (local cedant) or broker. Follow up on the day to day life of the contracts
-Follow up on the reporting of Claims in collaboration with the back office and claims team
-Take part in survey or Client visits and elaborating reports
-Emulating the image of Scor by maintaining a competitive technical and commercial skills and promoting Scor with our clients by using marketing tools developed in house.
-Focus on big accounts with cross selling opportunities internally and involving synergies
-Analyzing and following up the marine portfolio and ensuring the profitability.
Expérience requise et Formation
Required experience & competencies
You have a minimum 5 to 10 years experience in Marine.
Dynamic, curious, autonomous and rigorous, you are attracted by the commercial dimension and are familiar with negociations.
The position requiring regular business trips within Europe and occasionally in other destinations, you are perfectly fluent in English. Mastering another language would be an advantage.
You are ready to learn and take a job with an international dimension.
A Master odegree in engineering or marine.
