SCOR’s Biological Age Model Sven Ebert
Looking at the state of life today, in general things are good
WE ARE WEALTHIER
Share of global population living in extreme poverty was cut by
50% in the last 20 years
WE ARE HAPPIER
Over the last 30 years, level of happiness has increased in
~70% of the countries where data is available
WE ARE LIVING LONGER
Worldwide, life expectancy is estimated to increase by more than
1 year between 2016 and 2021
BAM is a response to a changing world. A changing world for all of us – for consumers, for companies, for soci- ety. At SCOR Global Life, we love life insurance – we passionately believe in the value of life insurance and the pro- tection it brings to millions of families around the world. But it is increasingly clear to us that the model is changing. Life insurance companies face many challenges as well as opportunities in today’s complex and dynamic world. Society also faces challenges that we think life insurance companies are well-positioned to help address.
If you step back and look at the state of life, you see that in general things are pretty good – we are living longer; we are healthier, and we are wealthier than before. The percentage of people living in poverty has reduced signi - cantly over the last twenty years. In addition, life expectancy has signi - cantly improved. On average globally, a baby born today can expect to live to 72 years. And in most countries, people are telling us that they are happier than they were before. So, it’s all pretty good!
