Celebrating Engagement Month 2025 at SCOR

Building resilience together

Life at SCOR

At SCOR, June is more than just the start of the summer; it is a time when our teams all over the world come together to make a tangible difference in the communities we call home. This annual initiative, now in its fourth year, is a vibrant testament to The SCOR Way, showcasing how our core purpose of contributing to the resilience of societies extends far beyond our (re)insurance solutions. Building on the momentum of previous editions, Engagement Month 2025 once again emerged as a powerful demonstration of how collective generosity, dedication, and working for a cause can help build resilient societies.

“Engagement Month is a chance for all of us to have a positive impact in our local communities and to support global sustainability efforts,” said Juliette Sarrail, SCOR’s Head of Engagement. “This year’s Engagement Month was a huge success with nearly 800 employees getting involved. We’re incredibly proud of the commitment and enthusiasm we saw from our teams around the world.”

Throughout the month, employees had the chance to participate in 70+ initiatives ranging from volunteering with charities to fundraising and initiatives to build awareness around various causes. Every year, SCOR employees are granted “Community Engagement Days” that they can use for volunteering in their local communities, and the ripple effect of these collective actions resonates deeply with SCOR’s dedication to a better world.

“The great thing about Engagement Month is that it is a global initiative that has a tangible impact at a local level,” Juliette said. “It furthers our commitment to corporate responsibility by creating avenues for employees to contribute meaningfully, share their expertise, and positively impact others' lives.”

A month of meaningful action

Across continents and cultures, SCOR employees embraced the opportunities to give back, transforming good intentions into real-world impact. Each activity added a new chapter to our Engagement Month story.

“It was an experience that reminds us that above all, we are human, capable of giving without limits and without expecting anything in return,” said Ghada Bouaziz, Senior Business Analyst - Cat systems, Paris who volunteered in the Paris Office.

Throughout the month, our employees made 999 contributions and accumulated a total of 2510 volunteer hours. Let us take a closer look at some of the initiatives.

Harvesting for community

Several of our initiatives focused on supporting local communities and our SCOR Canada team in Toronto volunteered at the local Flemo farm. The produce from the farm is either sold back to the community at a very discounted price, making it affordable for everyone, or is donated to local food banks. Our team helped planting vegetables, weeding garden beds, and setting up irrigation systems.

Striding for health

Our mission to contribute to the resilience of societies is deeply integrated with our understanding that healthy societies are resilient societies. The wellbeing of individuals and communities is vital for societal strength, enabling progress, innovation, and recovery from adversity.

This commitment was powerfully demonstrated as SCOR employees laced up their shoes and hit the streets to raise awareness and funds for critical health causes. The SCOR New York team participated in American Health Association’s 2025 Wall Street Run and Heart Walk and raised funds for the fight against cardiovascular diseases. “Every step taken and every dollar raised contributes to vital heart disease and stroke research, education, and life-saving CPR training. It's inspiring to see our team come together for such a crucial cause,” said Renato Sivieri Barboza, Head of Marketing, Americas who participated in New York.

In Paris, SCOR CEO Thierry Léger, Deputy CEO and CFO François de Varenne, Chief Corporate Officer Claire Le Gall-Robinson joined around 100 SCOR employees in the walk and run against ALS in solidarity with ARSLA, an organization tirelessly fighting against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. These powerful demonstrations of solidarity highlight our commitment to supporting the vision for healthy communities and improving health outcomes for all.

Supporting our elders

Demonstrating our commitment to compassion and human connection, SCOR employees dedicated their time to support the elders of our society, recognizing the invaluable wisdom and experience they bring to our communities and how initiatives like these can have a positive impact on their continued wellbeing and sense of belonging to the community.

Understanding the vital role that regular interaction and social connection play in the well-being of our elders SCOR Paris team had the privilege of accompanying elders on a visit to the Robert Doisneau exhibition at the Maillol Museum, offering a chance for cultural engagement and above all, an event to bring some joy to our elders.

Our team at SCOR Beijing volunteered at the local Jianwai Nursing Home, providing companionship and assistance. The volunteers painted fans and cloth bags with seniors as part of the initiative aimed at fostering intergenerational connections. “Spending time with seniors reminded us of all the value of showing care and listening, we received far more than we gave,” said Jessie Xu, HR Representative, APAC – China, participating in the initiative.

Our colleagues at SCOR Singapore Office also had the chance to visit a group of 30 seniors from Fei Yue Active Ageing Centre and visited the Singapore Discovery Centre to take an educational eco tour and learn with the elders about the adoption of hydroponics to grow vegetables. Then they had a chance to learn how to make tote bags from unwanted t-shirts.

The SCOR Way: Our values

SCOR’s commitment to the resilience of societies is the bedrock of everything we do.
