Running for prevention, visibility, and values: SCOR at Les Foulées de l’Assurance
20 avril 2026
For more than a decade, this Paris based event has gathered the insurance and reinsurance community for a morning of solidarity at the Bois de Boulogne, with 10 km and 5 km races as well as a “Marche du Cœur,” and a connected challenge that extends participation beyond race day. The initiative promotes cardiovascular disease prevention and channels proceeds to Adicare, a leading French association supporting research and innovation in cardiology and cardiac surgery.
This year, SCOR fielded its largest team to date with 154 participants, the highest number since we began taking part in Les Foulées de l’Assurance, a milestone that reflects both the growing enthusiasm of our colleagues and our sustained commitment to prevention and public health.
This collective effort was also recognized on the podium. SCOR proudly won two prizes this year: Vainqueur du Challenge des Assureurs (Winner of the Insurers' Challenge) and Vainqueur du Challenge du Nombre de la Marche du Cœur (Winner of the Number Challenge of the Heart Walk).
For the last decade, SCOR has been a partner of the event and registers between 50 and 150 employees each year. With part of each entry fee donated to Adicare, our teams have been supporting advances in cardiac research. In 2025 alone, Les Foulées de l’Assurance reported €58,349 donated to Adicare, illustrating the tangible impact of collective participation; the 2026 edition once again highlights Adicare’s mission to support research units and equipment dedicated to cardiology and cardiac surgery.
For SCOR, the event resonates on two levels. First, it’s a way to live our values, especially Care, in a visible, practical way: encouraging healthy lifestyles, championing prevention, and standing alongside partners who advance cardiac health. That purpose mirrors the spirit of our Life & Health business, where protecting people and promoting prevention are central to our mission. Second, Les Foulées de l’Assurance is a valuable way for our Paris employees to connect with others in the industry: the event brings together major players from across France’s insurance and reinsurance sector in a positive, community minded setting, with thousands of runners and walkers converging at the Bois de Boulogne and a digital challenge that broadens reach in the weeks leading up to race day.
Beyond figures and participation milestones, Les Foulées de l’Assurance is above all a personal experience for those who take part. We asked a few SCOR colleagues to share their motivations and their feelings on race day, what it meant to them, what challenged them, and what made the event memorable.
Tiziana Torri, Senior Actuary at SCOR, highlighted both the personal and collective dimensions of the event:
“Les Foulées de l’Assurance has become a must for me. This was my third time taking part: the first time I walked the 5 km, then I ran the 5 km, and this year I pushed myself to run the 10 km.
As it was the first time in my life running 10 km, I was afraid I wouldn’t succeed and that I would be exhausted before reaching the finish line. However, the beautiful weather and the great atmosphere made the whole experience extremely enjoyable, and far less painful than I had expected. Running side by side with colleagues and overtaking people who were technically my competitors gave me unexpected energy and created some truly memorable moments.”
Robin Thiery, Business Resilience Specialist at SCOR, also shared his perspective on the event:
“I chose to run in this race to support a charitable cause and because I genuinely enjoy taking part in collective initiatives. As I’m currently preparing for the Paris Marathon, it was also a great opportunity to test myself in a real event. The atmosphere was amazing, and the SCOR teams were incredibly supportive and full of energy, we definitely had the happiest tent at the event. I was also proud to break my personal record over the 10 km.”
Valerie Paingault, Internal Audit Assistant at SCOR, reflected on how the event has become both a personal and collective journey over time:
“Three years ago, I took part as a walker. Last year, I completed the 5 km, and this year I ran the 10 km. At first, I was mainly drawn to the idea of participating in a collective sporting event to raise funds for medical research. It was also a real personal challenge, as I had never run before. I really enjoyed sharing that moment with colleagues, and it was a great opportunity for me to improve my physical condition. The atmosphere on the day was fantastic and truly inspiring. A big thank you to the whole SCOR team for the organisation and the positive energy throughout the event.
No doubt I’ll be there again next year!”
