Make your mark: bringing SCOR’s impact to life
July 8, 2026
On July 1st, SCOR hosted its latest SCOR Live Session, a key milestone in the rollout of the Group’s employer brand campaign, “Make your mark. Act for society.”
The event was more than a conference, it was designed as a live demonstration of what reinsurance really means in practice: not just models and metrics, but people applying their expertise to help societies better understand risk, recover from shocks, and build resilience for the future.
From expertise to real-world impact
Reinsurance can often seem abstract from the outside. This session set out to change that.
Throughout the afternoon, SCOR employees shared concrete examples of how their daily work connects directly to real-world outcomes – tackling some of today’s most pressing challenges, from climate risk and infrastructure to longevity.
The common thread: behind every decision are individuals whose expertise drives tangible impact.
By putting these employees at the center, the event made visible the link between individual expertise, collective action, and societal impact, the core idea behind SCOR’s employer brand.
Stories that make impact tangible
The agenda combined panels, case studies, and short “flash sessions,” each offering a focused, real-life story.
One session showed how SCOR teams stepped in to support the construction of a major underground substation at a time when the market was retreating from such risks. By going beyond market assumptions and conducting a detailed technical analysis, they enabled the project to move forward, helping deliver renewable electricity to thousands of homes and supporting the transition to a more resilient energy system.

We can’t prevent every extreme weather event, but we can engineer the resilience that keeps cities powered.
Another session explored how refining catastrophe models can have far-reaching consequences. By reassessing windstorm clustering assumptions, SCOR experts ensured a more accurate and credible view of risk – a critical factor in determining how much protection can be provided when severe events occur.
The afternoon also highlighted the human impact of innovation in life and health reinsurance. In a session on longevity, SCOR teams developed new approaches to pricing retirement solutions using detailed health data. This made it possible to extend fair and sustainable coverage to individuals previously underserved by traditional models.
The outcome was significant: more people were able to access secure retirement income, giving them greater financial confidence later in life. Beyond the technical achievement, the work contributes to a broader societal goal, enabling people to live longer lives with greater security and peace of mind.
Together, these stories illustrated a shared reality: turning complexity and uncertainty into decisions that make a difference well beyond SCOR itself.
A human view of reinsurance
Alongside technical expertise, the event explored how talent is evolving across the industry. Panels brought together colleagues from different backgrounds and career stages to discuss the skills shaping the future, - from data and analytics to judgment, adaptability, and collaboration.
The discussions highlighted SCOR as a place where people can grow while contributing to meaningful outcomes, emphasizing that careers in reinsurance are not only intellectually stimulating, but also purpose-driven.
Bringing the employer brand to life
SCOR’s employer brand campaign, which launched in January 2026, aims to demystify reinsurance and showcase the real impact of the Group’s work. Featuring employees from 11 offices worldwide, it highlights the diversity of roles and the societal relevance of their expertise.
The July 1st Live Session brought this campaign to life. Participants heard directly from SCOR employees: gaining a clearer, more human understanding of the industry.
By the end of the event, participants walked away with:
- A clearer understanding of what reinsurance professionals actually do
- Concrete examples of how expertise translates into real-world impact
- Insight into the skills shaping the future of the industry
- A more human view of SCOR as a place to learn, grow, and make a difference
Making impact visible
At its heart, the event reinforced a simple idea: reinsurance is an industry of impact, and that impact is driven by people.
Whether enabling critical infrastructure, refining risk models, or expanding access to financial protection in later life, SCOR teams play a role in helping societies face uncertainty with greater confidence.
The 1 July session was a reminder that impact is not abstract. It is built day by day, through expertise, judgment, and collaboration.
And it is precisely this connection between individual contribution and collective resilience that defines what it means to make your mark at SCOR.
