SCOR for Good Champions: Bringing Purpose to Life Across Our Communities

This month, in recognition of SCOR’s annual Engagement Month, we’re spotlighting the people who turn our purpose into action: our SCOR for Good Champions.

SCOR for Good Champions are employees across the globe who volunteer their time, energy, and passion to bring SCOR’s values to life beyond the workplace. Acting as connectors between colleagues, communities, and the company, they lead local initiatives, inspire participation, and help create tangible impact – and all of this in addition to their official jobs at SCOR. They transform SCOR’s purpose into action by supporting communities, strengthening connections, and building resilience.

This year, we highlight three Champions from across our global network: Nazneen Bilimoria (India), Amy Kemery (US), and Ye Liu (Hong Kong), each offering a distinct perspective on what it means to give back.

Driven by Purpose, United by Impact

For many Champions, the journey begins with a personal desire to contribute and connect.

Nazneen Bilimoria, Executive Secretary at SCOR India, has long been involved in community service, inspired by her experience in the Girl Guides movement. For her, helping others is second nature. She was drawn to SCOR for Good by the opportunity to give back in meaningful ways and believes that even small acts of support can make a real difference.

Similarly, Amy Kemery, Retrocession Administration Associate in Charlotte, felt inspired to get involved when she joined SCOR, finding that helping others is rewarding in itself. As she puts it, “blessing others is a reward.”

For Ye Liu, Catastrophe Risk Manager in Hong Kong, the motivation lies in the collective experience. SCOR for Good offers a way to connect with colleagues while contributing to regional CSR initiatives and sharing a sense of achievement.

Across these stories, a common thread emerges: a belief that individual actions, no matter how small, can lead to meaningful change.

Turning Values into Action

SCOR for Good Champions play a key role in turning values into action by taking initiative, inspiring others, and building bridges across communities.

For Nazneen, being a Champion reflects a strong sense of responsibility toward society. “Being a champion means more responsibility towards society,” she said. “Helping each other is what truly brings purpose and makes society whole.”

Amy sees Champions as role models who “lead by example to do better, which leads to feeling better.”

Ye highlights the connector role Champions play. “We have the opportunity to act as a link between the organization, colleagues, and the community, raising awareness and creating opportunities to contribute,” she said.

Together, their perspectives show how impact grows when individuals mobilize others and create momentum around a shared purpose.

Moments That Matter

At the heart of SCOR for Good are the moments where collective efforts translate into real-world impact.

For Nazneen, one such moment came from a tree-planting initiative five years ago. After helping plant 500 saplings with her team, she recently returned to find them transformed into fruit-bearing trees now supporting farmers’ livelihoods, a powerful reminder that a single initiative can create lasting change over time.

“The smile and satisfaction is truly beyond explanation,” she shared.

In Charlotte, Amy has seen this impact through initiatives supporting vulnerable communities. By assembling 200 “Blessing Bags” for Project Outpour, she has witnessed how consistent action can make a difference. “The number of lives we touch year after year is the most rewarding,” she said.

For Ye, the impact is often more personal. A youth training program left a lasting impression, reinforcing how even modest contributions can create meaningful outcomes.

These experiences bring SCOR for Good to life, turning individual efforts into collective, human-centered impact.

Strengthening Communities and Teams

SCOR for Good not only supports local communities, but also strengthens connections within the SCOR Group.

For Nazneen, lasting impact is a grassroots effort where each of us steps up to help those around us.

At the same time, these initiatives foster a strong sense of belonging. Amy highlights the human connections that emerge through volunteering, emphasizing “camaraderie, compassion, empathy, belonging and friendship.” Ye points to the broader impact on teams, from stronger collaboration to new perspectives gained through shared experiences.

By bringing people together around a common purpose, SCOR for Good strengthens both communities and teams, internally and externally.

Looking Ahead: Growing the Movement

As Engagement Month encourages broader participation, our Champions share a simple message: everyone can play a role.

“It doesn’t matter whether an initiative is big or small,” says Nazneen. “Together, we can make a difference.”

Amy highlights the opportunity to connect while giving back, calling it “a fantastic way to meet colleagues and leave a memorable mark,” while Ye describes the experience as “both fun and fulfilling.”

Looking ahead, they hope to see greater collaboration, increased participation, and initiatives that leverage SCOR’s expertise in risk and resilience to create long-term, sustainable impact.

Celebrating Our Champions

The 80+ SCOR for Good Champions are at the heart of Engagement Month, bringing energy, compassion, and purpose to everything they do. Across India, the United States, Hong Kong, and beyond, they come as they are, with their personality, passion, causes close to their heart to demonstrate that purpose is not just a statement. It’s something employees actively bring to life.

This month, we celebrate their dedication and invite all employees to be part of the journey, because making a difference starts with each of us.
