This conference will bring together economists, climatologists, natural catastrophe modelling experts, actuaries and insurance and reinsurance industry professionals to discuss four major issues:
  • What is the current state of knowledge in terms of climate risks over the medium and long term?
  • How can climate risks be modelled?
  • How can decisions be made in a context of climate uncertainty?
  • Are climate risks insurable and reinsurable?
Jean Tirole, Chairman of the Toulouse School of Economics, winner of the Nobel Prize for Economics, will open this conference on Tuesday 9 June at 10:00 with an inaugural lecture on “Effective institutions against climate change”.
