SCOR Global Life strengthens its position in France

SCOR Global Life announces the following appointments in France

Barthélemy Philippe is promoted to Director of the French Market. Formerly the Head of Client Solutions for SCOR Global Life, Barthélemy Philippe will now lead the French market, working closely with clients in this important market to bring protection and peace of mind to people through insurance solutions. He will report to Pilar Santamaria Cases, Head of Western Europe and Latin America, and will be based in Paris.
 
Jean-Philippe Lavergne is promoted to Deputy Director of the French Market. Jean-Philippe Lavergne will support business development teams in delivering the ambitious roadmap that will be set for the French market by the Group’s new strategic plan. Jean Philippe Lavergne will report to Barthélemy Philippe and will be based in Paris.
 
Olivier Cabrignac is promoted to Head of Innovation for Western Europe and Latin America. Formerly the Deputy Director of the French market, Olivier Cabrignac will now assume a role focused on innovation across the consumer journey in the markets of France, Iberia, Italy and Latin America. Olivier Cabrignac will report to Pilar Santamaria Cases, and will remain based in Paris.

Biographies

Barthélemy Philippe, 38, was previously SCOR Global Life’s Global Head of Client Solutions, overseeing our Global Underwriting & Claims, Life & Health Ventures, and Proposition teams. His previous roles with SCOR included General Manager of SCOR Global Life Canada where he led the development of the business and operations from 2016-2018, and Global Head of Strategy & Development for Life. Prior to joining SCOR, Barth was a Vice President with a global Venture Capital fund, originating, executing and managing technology investments in the U.S. and in Europe. He started his career as a consultant with a global strategy firm, focusing on Insurance clients in Europe. Barth is a graduate of the Ecole polytechnique (Paris) and of HEC School of Management (Paris)
 
Jean-Philippe Lavergne, 53, holds a degree in Financial Economics from the University of Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas, Sciences Po Paris and CHEA. He joined SCOR in 1999 as a French Market Underwriter and then became Deputy Head of Northern Europe and Middle East Markets. Since 2008, he has been responsible for the underwriting team of the Multichannels division in the French market.  
 
Olivier Cabrignac, 54, holds a degree in Econometrics and Management Science from the University of Paris-Dauphine and is a Certified Actuary (CNAM) - Data Scientist (IRM) member of the Institute of Actuaries. He joined SCOR Global Life in 2007 following the acquisition of Converium as Deputy Director France, Maghreb & Francophone Africa. He previously held various technical positions in both insurance and life and health reinsurance.
