Is this the end of e-mails? Well, not quite yet, but we are making a big step in that direction.

Technology has made huge strides in what we do today, how we manage our data, and with whom we share that data. Its speed of transformation is ever-accelerating, exposing us to unprecedented benefits but also an unknown magnitude of complexity and risks. How can we best manage this complexity and those risks while still benefiting from all the great advantages of technology?

In November 2023, we shared our research into excess mortality at our “Navigating a Challenging Landscape” seminar, and it attracted a lot of discussion and interest. We have therefore decided to publish a summary in SCORacle.

Fußball ist die beliebteste Sportart der Welt mit 50 Millionen Spielerinnen und Spielern und 3,5 Milliarden Fans weltweit. In den Medien wird dieser Sport häufig glamourös dargestellt und Profis können ein hohes Einkommen und Ruhm erzielen. Dabei wird jedoch vergessen, dass sie auch erheblichen Gesundheits- und Lebensrisiken wie zum Beispiel Verletzungen, chronischen Schmerzen, Gehirnerschütterungen, psychischen Problemen, Herz-Kreislauf-Risiken und Unfällen ausgesetzt sind.

In the December 2022 edition of SCORacle, we included an article that detailed the revised Association of British Insurer’s (ABI) Guide to Minimum Standards for Critical Illness Cover document (the Guide), that was released on 15th September 2022.

Soon after the release of the updated Guide, the ABI were alerted to some areas where suggested improvements could be made. This was despite a wide consultation of the draft version of the Guide to many stakeholders, leading up to the release of the final document.
