SCOR enhances its governance and creates a Corporate Social Responsibility Board of Directors’ committee

On 24 October 2017, SCOR created a Corporate Social Responsibility committee in order to leverage on the pivotal role of boards in terms of ensuring that corporate strategies are consistent with a company’s long-term sustainability.

This committee is composed of 7 directors and will meet at least quarterly. Fields Wicker-Miurin has been appointed Chairman of the CSR Committee.

The new committee’s missions are diverse, including examining the corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy of the Group, drawing up a CSR action plan and following up on its implementation, and reviewing the Group’s communications and disclosures around CSR issues.

By establishing a “tone from the top” whereby the management is accountable for ensuring that the social and environmental impacts of the Group’s operations are addressed responsibly, SCOR has resolutely enhanced its profile as a responsible reinsurer.
