Life at SCOR
Studies indicate that gender stereotypes begin to affect young girls as early as age six and these stereotypes can greatly influence their educational and career choices later in life, leading to the underrepresentation of women in many fields.

When Chloe Wang joined SCOR’s Life and Health team in China, she was one of two employees, helping to build the business from the ground up. Nearly 15 years later, she has held almost every role aside from medical underwriter and now oversees all of SCOR’s L&H business in APAC.

After nine years at SCOR in various HR roles, I was named SCOR’s first Group Head of Diversity, Inclusion, and Engagement in 2022. I’m passionate about my work but reaching this point has been a journey that, while I can’t claim it was written in advance, undoubtedly started from childhood.

In the evolving landscape of reinsurance, the role of data science has become increasingly pivotal. Data science allows reinsurers to analyze vast amounts of data from various sources, leading to more accurate risk assessment as well as innovative (re)insurance products and services that benefit consumers and businesses alike. This new discipline encompasses various specializations, from data analysis to data visualization and modeling, making it a multifaceted profession.

Fostering a sense of community and continuous professional growth among employees is crucial. Recognizing this need, SCOR launched the Young Professionals Network in 2021to provide young employees with opportunities for networking, social connection, professional development, and career growth.
